1. Please introduce yourself.

I'm Liam or odriscoll on basically all sites! You're on my About page, so you should know me by now ;)

2. How long have you been making websites?

I started really learning and getting into it in late 2024/early 2025.

3. And what got you into the hobby?

Reading ranfren on ranfren.net and stumbling upon cinni.net! I saw they were made on neocities and got curious.

4. What kind of website are you most interested in?

I like all kinds of websites! I do like learning about new topics that the webmaster is passionate about, and I like sites with entertainment or art, like comics and music sites.

5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?

I wing it completely. I've been trying to draw out layouts before I code but I still end up making stuff up as I go.

6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.

I'm a little too shy to ... but basically everyone I follow on neocities ^_^'

7. What's your favourite part about making websites?

As cliche(?) as it sounds, the reward! I love struggling with a certain code for hours and finally getting it to work, especially since I'm self taught. I also like having a pretty website. :3

8. And the thing you struggle with the most?

Probably actually finishing pages. Basically every one of my pages has something to finish lol.

9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?

I love making new ones for each page!!!

10. How confident are you with CSS?

I would say I'm pretty confident. >:)

11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?

Never used or seen it until now. But even then, I'm replacing it, NYAHA

12. What is your favourite HTML element?

<div>!!! But <br> is second!

13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?

I write a general idea of what content I want on it, so I don't forget when I focus completely on making it look pretty ;3

14. Do you know JavaScript?

No, but I do know how to copy and paste ;P I'd like to learn it eventually, but it looks very intimidating...

15. How about PHP?

I would also like to learn one day....

16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?

MAXIMALISM

17. Are you more focused on content or design?

Probably design... I usually can't put content on a page if the design is crap ...

18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?

19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?

They're nice, but they don't keep my attention if that's the only purpose behind them.

20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?

I do not remember to check but when I do it usually doesn't have too many errors..!!

21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?

I love them so so much.

22. What do you think of button walls in particular?

I also love them so so much and I've found a lot of cool websites through them. :3

23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?

With the random nature of my designing, it would be completely different.

24. Are you envious of other people's websites?

Yeah....

25. What text editor do you use?

Would everyone kill me with rocks if I said I type in code in the Neocities editor, save, and refresh the page.

26. Why do you use that one?

It's how I first started and I don't like to change my ways!

27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?

I host them on Neocities.

28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?

I don't really see much actual discourse, and it seems they both have their strengths and flaws. I do think Nekoweb is cuter tho hehe.

29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?

Almost 500mb... No I do not downsize my images give me time.

30. Do you keep local backups of your files?

I download my whole site around every month. Just in case :P

31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?

I can enjoy them both, as long as I can read the text and navigate the site lol. But I do like visual websites for inspiration.

32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?

I try to use different colors on each page! But I do seem to naviagte towards pink often. I like pink!

33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?

No!!!!!!

34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?

I got one into coding, but I haven't seen much of his website sadly...!! And I'm not really close friends with any people I follow on Neocities, as much as I'd like to be TuT

35. Do people in your real life know about your website?

I tell people about it if they're interested in web design, like teachers. I've basically only told some of my teachers and online friends.

36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?

If I have something I'm actively working on, I update almost daily. Otherwise, I just add some blinkies and stamps I found on tumblr lol.

37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?

I change it on almost every page and I love to redesign pages!!! This page was redesigned too!

38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?

Me and hobby focused. I use it as an escape from the outside world x3

39. Do you do web design professionally?

I don't. Miku number!

40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?

Not as a full time job, but maybe for fun every once in a while. I am #unemployed. I get money from art commissions and designs on toyhou.se lol.

41. Do you communicate with people by email very much?

Only when necessary, which isn't often.

42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?

I do, but only to lurk. I don't post a lot, even if I want to (coughs. tumblr art blog. coughs)

43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?

I use Discord mainly, but Whatsapp and Instagram if that counts for group chats with school friends.

44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?

I usually listen to music or watch Youtube! I listen to all kinds of stuff while I code, it depends on my mood. But it is usually metal.

45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?

I have other websites for funs and experimenting, but most things are here. :3

46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?

I have SO MANY topics.

47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?

I construct a persona unintentionally TuT Which is good cause my real self is a little weird. I have to hold back a little, for everyones(+my) sake.

48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?

No... I'm too shy (๑-﹏-๑) But I would really like to be friends with people.

49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?

Because I know nothing about other versions and stuff, YEAH I am.

50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?

Probably autoplaying music with no warning or option to turn it off, and not making an effort to be mobile friendly, even if you have to make a separate page. I also wish more people would be considerate of the legibility of their text, like not making it extremely small, using a pixel font, AND a color similar to the background... {{{(>_<)}}}

51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?

@media (max-width) to adjust things for different screen sizes!

52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?

I don't. TuT

53. Do you consider different browsers?

Yes, I look into different ones a lot.

54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.

I use Chrome and you SHOULDN'T use it. I'm just far too comfortable with it and don't want to change.

55. And what OS are you on?

Windows 10, I refuse to update. DGAF

56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?

I just happen to use it, but I don't want to change from it since I'm used to it. I have a friend who tries to convince me to use Linux but if I fuck up anything on my PC I'm killing myself

57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?

Yes, they just aren't pretty sometimes lol.

BAD

I love them! I'm in a bit, they're on my main page. :3

Yes! I like to see passion about the subject, like straight infodumping. Also extra stuff like blinkies and stamps and videos about the subject.

61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?

I'm not entirely sure what makes a "cliche" website, but I probably am x3

62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?

Not sure... I want it to be a bit more decorated I guess. I'm happy with it.

63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?

I am, but I'm a little too lazy to make my own assets. I mainly make OC art. I get most of my stuff from tumblr.

64. What are your favourite resource sites?

I use w3schools for coding resources, and I usually use tumblr for graphic resources, but I also go to gloomy-poison and betty's graphics :P

65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?

Probably using both external and internal CSS and having to override specific things from the external CSS and having to look at what I have in my external CSS to see whats fucking up my site...

66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?

Google EVERYTHING, reference w3schools, copy things only if you know how it works, how to apply it, and how to edit it safely.

67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?

Mostly CSS.

68. What do you think of frameset layouts?

As long as it works..!!

69. How about table-based layouts?

As a layout, nooo. It's usually fine on PC but ugly asf on mobile. Plus, from experience, it gets really confusing to edit at a certain point.

70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?

As long as they work? Dunno!? I think I use them?!?! IDK?!

71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?

Oh definitely the CSS.

72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.

No....I fear my favorite part of coding is the CSS Lol.

73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?

I make layouts when the need arises, but I have kinda abandoned some layouts and their ideas.

74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?

I'd say I'm intermediate, leaning towards beginner...? I know a lot of design and I can make things work, but I don't know any actual web development stuff. I only know how to make pretty website!!!!

75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?

Yes... especially if they do something super cool! I want to study it!

76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?

Googling things and reading w3schools so that I can be cool.

77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?

I probably have but can't remember. I know I probably use things wrong tho.

78. Thoughts on floating elements?

Cool I think!

79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?

% for most things, px for most images, and I use rem for text. I am not sure why.

80. Do you have a favourite font?

I'm not sure?! Sounds scary. I like doing things on my own.

Yes!

I do! I would be really flattered and surprised.

Probably my layouts and use of border-image. I wanna be aestheticcc.

Yes, I have a lot of gaming consoles I share with my dad, old tech he shares with me, and I want my own video camera.

An unhealthily long and often amount. Chronic even.

Whoever is interested in similar topics as me, I guess!?

Not really.

I didn't know the term until now... I think they're nice :)

Oh I am absolutely embarrassed of my old work, but I don't delete it. I respect my younger self. I thought I was the GOAT back then and I will not interfere with the past.

I would leave an archive. I wish people did that more. :(

I overshare but stop at a certain point.

Ummm I'd say my best online friend is my boyfriend, Light. He is learning to code. (I'm forcing him) :P
